Sort out the shared drive without opening every file.
Sercha reads the whole drive, finds the duplicates, works out which version of each document is current, and files everything by what it actually is.

How it's done today
Every firm has a drive where "final v3 (2)" sits next to "final v3 USE THIS", and nobody is sure which one is real. Sorting it out by hand means opening thousands of files.
What the workflow does
- 1
Reads every file
Everything in the folders you connect, whatever it's called.
- 2
Finds the duplicates
The same file saved under different names, in different places.
- 3
Picks the current version
From dates, version numbers and what replaces what, with the reason shown.
- 4
Flags what needs a person
When two versions both look current, it asks instead of guessing.
A data consultancy built this to sort out a client's shared drive before building anything else on top of it.
- without dedicated staff or software
- Now possible
- sorted, not one folder at a time
- Whole drive
Built in the Sercha builder, over the firm's own files. The firm isn't named here.
Questions
- Does it move or delete our files?
- No. Sercha never changes anything in SharePoint. It shows what's duplicated or out of date, and you decide what to do.
- How does it know which version is current?
- From what's in the documents: dates, version numbers, and one document saying it replaces another. Each choice shows its reason.
